what is this blog all about?

i have been asked what this blog is all about. let me try to explain. "vividly"

it's about dissatisfaction with my present state as an indian citizen. it is a desire to have more. it is the question that arises in my mind when i analyze my situation. who am i?

i look around me and i see so much talent and wisdom and experience and yet why is it that when i interact with people from other countries - i feel that we are treated as worth so little? why are we still so backward and primitive and impoverished?

i look at what india has become. the exploitation and the the misery we put each other through. the dirt and the decay and the corruption. i feel the despair as i travel to work on a bus full of sweaty people - all of us trapped in the same cycle of despair. i wonder - how did it get so bad? when did we stop caring?

this blog is an attempt to present reality as i see it. my perspective of being an indian. a dream that someday i'll be able to make a difference and my words will inspire change.

do we need religion?

try to imagine the world as it was a million years ago. our ancestors probably lived in trees or in caves. they experienced nature's power/fury and they were left with their gods. they felt small and insignificant - they needed some spiritual support. so they invented GODS to pray to. we indian have a lot a gods - one for every day - enough to last us forever - a god for every situation.

but...

we are no longer on the trees - nor are we cavemen. times have changed - we are talking about
information technology and outsourcing and a zillion other things - can we afford our religion? are we ready to be cavemen once again?

it's good and nice and safe to cling to forgotten values and forgotten lifetimes. but to drag primitive values into this age, this era - we can only be hypocrites - we can lie to ourselves and try to forget what we are. are we still monkeys - playing Tarzan on the trees???

divine intervention

check this out. maybe this can help you!!

artistic clampdown

artistic censorship is fashionable in modern india. if you are a budding politician, businessman, if you want free publicity - target an artist. complain about artistic expression and poetic license and if possible register a court case - the indian judiciary is overloaded - they can't handle justice but they will definitely have time for you - they need publicity too - but please don't forget to invite the media guys - they are the guys who'll make you famous.

we indian's love formulas. our very successful home grown movie industry - bollywood (yuck) survives on formulas. the artist terrorizing formula works - so you should try it. maybe you'll get your 15 secs of fame. who cares about creativity and progress? not you, not me - let's be true indians- to hell with the artists - they are parasites anyway.

so what if artists are the lifeblood of innovation and evolution - we are happy the way we are - among the worst poorest most depressing nations in the world. we are proud to be indian. proud to be one of the most corrupt nations in the world. proud to be a nation where people live and die on the streets - so what - as long as i have my japanese/american car - the rest of india can go to hell. i dont care - i am an indian - i think only about myself.

so target an artist today - an easy way to fame. do it NOW!!!
